Ash Wednesday Worship

Ash Wednesday marks the start of the season of Lent.  Lent is a time when we prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline.  The practice of repentance and mourning in ashes is found in 2 Samuel 13:19; Ester 4:1, Job 2:8; Daniel 9:3; and Matthew 11:21, and forms the Biblical foundation for our practice of lightly rubbing palm ash on the foreheads of worshipers on Ash Wednesday.

In collaboration with the other Brookville area United Methodist Churches, we are offering four identical Ash Wednesday Services.  Choose hte time and location most convenient for you, and "drop in" at any time time during the specified hour.

7:00 to 8:00 a.m. at Brookville First

12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Brookville Community

5:00 to 6:00 p.m.  at Antioch

7:00 to 8:00 at Pyrmont
